Gummin' Away

Carson has been gnawing on his hands & drooling hardcore for a few weeks now. So, he had his first real experience with a teether yesterday, & he loved it! It pretty much went like this...gum gum gum smile, gum gum gum giggle, gum gum gum  "ick" face...then start all over. So presh.

I managed to snap a few pics...

Just a few things I love about my little man

I love that he smiles so much, like...

When we pick him up out of bed in the morning.
When we talk back to him is his baby language
When we sing to him
When we make silly faces
When we "get" his belly

I love that he is sooooo ticklish

I love when Daisy jumps on the couch, brushes against his face with her fur & he moves his head from side to side to feel it, this is seriously so funny

I love when he rolls over & starts fussing because he can't get himself back over yet OR go anywhere

I love that he sleeps with his mouth open, like his mommy =)

I love that he smiles at the phone when he can hear his daddy on speakerphone

I love that he has my eye color & nose but everything else came from daddy.

I love it when he giggles

And last but not least I love that I get to spend all day, everyday with him

a big heaping pile of...

LAUNDRY! Although it is clean laundry that just needs folded & put away it is still the worst frickin' part! I did nothing take a shower today but that's about it. My poor hubby had to come home to me even more ghastly looking than when he left me this morning because I got to shower but didn't get to flat iron my hair or put on a stitch of makeup & just put on a different set of comfy attire. It's amazing that he is still attracted to me at all, since I never seem to make it far out of my comfies anymore & if I do they go right back on as soon as we get home from wherever we ventured that day.

I've been trying to work on building my wardrobe back up lately, buying things here & there, even though I feel totally guilty when doing so. Which is pretty much pointless because I don't plan on being able to fit into anything remotely close to my current size for very long. I just feel so awful about the way I look now-a-days. Definitely not anywhere close to feeling "hot" or "sexy". I want my sexy back dang it! ;)

Ugh...okay before this get anymore sad pathetic, I will stop typing my heart out & go fold that laundry!

5k for TaTa's

For the past three years my sister & I have done a 5k walk for breast cancer awareness.Walking with thousands of people that have been either directly or indirectly affected by this disease has always been a wonderful & inspiring experience. This year seemed especially empowering to me however.

A parade of women came to the stage to call out their names, how long they have been cancer free, in treatment, or recently diagnosed. As these women, some so young, gave just a little glimpse into their battles, I was in the audience tearing up, my big sunglasses the only thing hiding my emotions. I thought about how I would handle somehting like this, how I would tell my family or even worse, leaving my beautiful boy in this big world without me to guide him. He needs me, I'm his mommy & these women's families need them too! They are all so amazingly strong & brave having dealt/dealing with having cancer while still caring & providing for their families.

I'm so proud to have been part of this event & will continue to walk for a cure every year as long as there are still mommies being taken away from their babies ( no matter how old those "babies" are), you should too!

A book for baby

While at Books & Co. last weekend we picked up a new Halloween book for Carson's library...

It's called "Spooky's First Halloween"
Which we thought to be ironic because...

This is our cat, Spooky
(We got him in October, six years ago)

Us = party of three

Taking advantage of a 76 degree fall day, we took Carson for his first walk in the park yesterday. Carson of course fell asleep like he does on most of our walks, only to wake up as we are heading towards the car. But I'd like to believe he enjoyed the weather at the very least. The leaves are starting to change colors & the air was crisp. There were others enjoying a walk in the park & kids practicing football. Chipmunks & squirrels ran across the crackling leaves then up into the trees.

Paul & I strolled down a paved path through the woods with our sleeping boy in tow, talking about what our days had entailed and our plans for the next. I cherish the times that we get to have these "adult" conversations now nore than ever, instead of talking about how much Carson ate or how many poops he had done. Our evenings usually consist of dinner for all of us, dishes, diapering, playing, bathing, & bedtime. It seems like we have no time for each other anymore. I miss it being so easy to focus solely on one another. But I know we are just going to have to plan time to spend together & also be able to work "Us Time" into "Family time". Because "Us = party of three" now.
